Welcome to Hot Under the Collar TV, a channel launched to provide an antidote to what you will find on mainstream television.
Finally, London has now become the Official Olympic host as all eyes now focus on the 2012 Olympic games in London. The host nation has the opportunity to introduce new event disciplines and there is already heated debate on what maybe considered. There are abundant, sometimes ludicrous, sporting contests vying for their moment of Olympic glory and Hot Under the Collar Television is pleased to host a selection of these would-be Olympic disciplines. Team GB took a staggering 19 Gold Medals in Beijing but perhaps they could boost this impressive medal haul even more by introducing some new sports, however unusual, in which we excel. Great Britain is also a nation of eccentrics and perhaps it is time to add a sport that reflects this cultural heritage.
The HUTC Alternative Olympics focus on a range of races, championships and competitions devoid of any other agenda other than sheer enjoyment. Extreme Ironing would certainly engage the youth for the 2012 Olympics and that was one of the key aims of the London Olympic bid. The coal carrying race and backwards mile would make a wonderful spectacle around the streets of London. Team GB is already top in the cycling events so Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling could also deliver us gold. Some involved in these events may be described as a little eccentric. However what unites them all is a passion for what they do and Hot Under the Collar has been created to celebrate this diversity.
